PACRO Earmarks
Livingstone Office
In line with its mission
statement of providing efficient and effective registration systems
PACRO is committed to supporting business growth by improving the
agency’s operational efficiency and reducing the time and cost of
accessing our services for business.
In this vein the Agency
is determined to decentralize its services. After the opening of the
Copperbelt Regional Office on 30th October 2007, PACRO
intends to open its Livingstone Office by the end of November 2007.
These changes are part
of an agency-wide process re-engineering and computerization
initiative that PACRO is currently undertaking to meet the needs of
Zambia’s growing business community and comply with Zambian
government policy on public service reform.
In line with its
programme of action for the current financial year, PACRO plans to
open a third satellite office in Chipata by the end of December
2007. The satellite offices will offer the same automated services
as at the Lusaka Head office. To inform the business community about
these developments an outreach campaign in the print and electronic
media has been running in the last 3 months. PACRO, by removing
administrative barriers to new business registration, has sought to
create more enabling environment for much-needed business, trade and
investment growth in Zambia.
The decentralization
programme is being supported by the United States government through
the Millennium Challenge Account Threshold Project (MCA/ZTP). |
