ESPIRIT DE CORPSE (TEAM WORK)
A
team may be defined, according to the Oxford Dictionary, as “a set of
people working together.” For our purposes it may be defined as a group
of people working together to achieve one defined organizational goal.
Now, you realize that PACRO as an organization has quite a number of
goals in different departments. All these departmental goals culminate
or lead to the achievement of one important goal which is “Customer
Service and Satisfaction”.
To illustrate my point today, I will use the example of a soccer team.
In a soccer team, the goal keeper ensures that the opponents do not
score even after every one in the team has been overcome.
Defenders are there to defend, midfielders ensure smooth ball
distribution, while strikers are goal getters for the team.
I
would like to end by emphasizing on the role of defenders and strikers.
PACRO has been in existence for many years now and as a result, it has
gained a good public image or reputation. We should all in the spirit of
the team strive to defend what PACRO has achieved so far and not try to
destroy it.
Those of us who are strikers should focus on getting quick goals for
PACRO even in the form producing various certificates for our customers
within the shortest possible time and with minimum cost to our
customers. We can promote team work by:
1.
Having
one common goal.
2.
Promoting good inter-personal relationships amongst ourselves as members
of staff.
3.
Openness
to one another as this will ensure a free flow of information and
promote consultative meetings amongst ourselves.
Let us call to mind that “united we stand, divided we will fall”.
