WHY
DO YOU HAVE TO REGISTER YOUR BUSINESS WITH PACRO?
It is a legal requirement that you register your company or business
name. Section 3 of the Registration of Business Act, Cap 389 of the Laws
of Zambia requires that anyone carrying on business in a name other than
their personal names should register

HOW TO REGISTER A
BUSINESS NAME |

The
applicant has to fill in an application form for registering a
business name |

For body
corporate, fill form I
-
For sole
proprietorship, fill form III
-
For a
partnership, fill form II
-
Pacro will conduct a name clearance search to determine the
suitability of the name applied for. This is to ensure that the name
to be registered has not been used by any other person before.

If
the name is approved, the applicant is issued with a Certificate of
Registration of a name and the applicant will then be given a
duplicate copy of an application form duly stamped with which
he/she can open a Bank Account

TO CHANGE A BUSINESS NAME AND OTHER PARTICULARS |

The applicant
will fill Business Name Form VI

After payment of
fees, the necessary changes are done and a Certificate for change
of Name is issued, in the case of any change of name. Name
clearance has to be done also.

TO CEASE USE OF A BUSINESS NAME |
|

Applicant fills
Business Name form VII (i.e. Cessation Form)

Surrender
original Certificate of registration
-
And pay necessary
cessation fee
-
The name is then
removed from the register
