The Patents and Companies Registration Office (PACRO)
officially launched its information brochures on 30th
October 2007 in Ndola. The launch was part of the official opening
of PACRO’s Copperbelt Regional Office officiated by the Honourable
Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Mr. Felix Mutati, MP.
The brochures were produced in conjunction with the
Private Sector Development Programme – Administrative Barriers
Working Group and the Zambia Threshold Project.
The brochures are a guide on how to go about various
registration and post-registration procedures undertaken by PACRO.
They cover all the main areas of operation, such as how proposed
names are approved.
The brochures were produced in response to customer
demands for easily accessible information on PACRO’s operations.
They are also meant to complement the information available on
PACRO’s website since the majority of its clients have no access to
the internet. The brochures will therefore add value to PACRO’s
service delivery.
The titles of brochures produced are:
-
How to register a company in Zambia,
-
How to register a business name,
-
Procedure followed in approving companies and
business names,
-
Post-registration requirements
Other earlier production include:
-
Guide to business names, and
-
How to patent an invention in Zambia under the
national procedure,
-
A guide to proper use of trademarks, and
-
Basic facts about industrial designs.
It
is hoped by PACRO that these information materials will be found to
be greatly beneficial to PACRO clients as well as the general
populace in understanding what PACRO does. |
